Not many underground systems in the world can claim to be tourist attractions and artistic monuments. The Moscow (and ST-Petersburg) metro is an exception. In the early 1930s, the Soviet government saw the metro as an opportunity for propaganda. Built in record time it had to be the most comfortable, beautiful and the fastest.

Within 3 months of coming to power in November 1917, Bolsheviks has set up their own machinery of secret service known as cheka. During five years from 1934 till 1939, one citizen in 20 was purged by the secret police known as the NKVD and there were at least one million of executions over the same period. During the tour you will have a chance to walk through the secret tunnels of the former secret bunker and touch soviet military equipment.
